Who is Artina?

My journey began in childhood, when I discovered the world of colours, textures and shapes with sparkling eyes. My mother and my aunt taught me to knit, crochet and sew, which led me into an imaginative world of creativity. I often rummaged through Nona’s wardrobe, where I found all sorts of fabric and wool. I used them to design clothes for my Barbi and Medot, expressing my passion for handicrafts at an early age.

I spent my childhood in the idyllic town of Bovec, where I was surrounded by nature and its wonders. This connection with nature gave me a sense of peace and freedom that still inspires my work today. When my parents and I moved to Ljubljana at an early age, a new chapter in my life began. The urban environment and growing up took me away from creativity for a short time, but nature kept calling me back to the world of imagination.

It was at the Secondary Media School that I discovered my love for graphic drawing. My enthusiasm for visual expression drove me on, but life’s challenges and personal upheavals put me on hold. My career then continued in the field of Confectionery Technology, where I felt the pulse of the fashion industry as a student. This period opened the door to the world of design, where I combined the energy of crystals with my creativity. I started making unique pieces of jewellery and interweaving wire and different materials to translate my ideas into tangible artworks.

Soon life led me to painting energy paintings on canvas and drawing mandalas, where I found a harmony between art and spirituality. Experimenting with materials, textures and techniques allows me to express my creativity and at the same time create something that is completely unique. I want to pass on this energy and calmness that comes from drawing to people.
